Men's Leather Wristband Bracelet with Light Green Jade
In olden days, Maya nobility wore jade pectorals and jewelry, for they believed the gem was sacred and more valuable than gold. Today, Pablo Roquel shares the beauty of Guatemalan jade with the world through the design of this masculine bracelet. Crafted by hand, the brown wristband bracelet is centered by light - apple green - jade. A hidden hook adjusts the length as desired.
Every purchase supports NOVICA's mission to spread happiness by celebrating exploration, empowering artists, and preserving global culture
Jewelry Storage Pouch Included
A jewelry pouch inspired by the unique culture of America is also included with this beautiful green jade pendant leather bracelet for men.
Meet the Artist - Pablo Roquel
"I find the history associated with jade to be inspiring. This beautiful stone has been treasured and worked since the times of the ancient Maya. Jade can only be found in a few countries around the world, so I feel fortunate to have the privilege to have it nearby to create something so valuable. "I'm Pablo, from San Cristbal Totonicapan and I'm the youngest of five siblings. Both my parents were farmers and vendors, but dad also enjoyed carving and mom wove traditional attire on the backstrap loom.
HAPPINESS MISSION!
NOVICA works with talented artisan around the world to produce stunning, keepsake treasures. We live by the mantra of spreading happiness, so rest assured - we’ll do everything we possibly can to ensure you’re a happy customer.
Award Winning
In 1998, the government held a competition where artisans were invited to showcase their work, Pablo was awarded first place for his jewelry and artistry. This artist has dramatically improved their livelihood by working with NOVICA.
Preserving Traditions
Pablo works with jade and silver to create beautiful jewelry. He feels inspired by the history of jade in Central America with its importance dating back to Maya times. He teaches anyone in his community who is interested in his techniques and how to work with Guatemalan jade.
Moving On Up
Pablo has been able to successfully grow his workshop and now creates jobs in his community to keep up with the demand for his designs. We see a vibrant future that celebrates artisans who take the time to craft an item by hand.
Enabling Education
Pablo financially supports his children's education. Through this fair trade, NOVICA aims to create a future where artisans can thrive, time is protected, stories are told, culture is preserved, and unique details are honored.
