About the Main Street Originals
Universal Size and Style
With 54mm wide lens, the Main Street Originals were designed to fit big dudes, but they are still somehow very prone to getting stolen by our smaller counterparts.
Clear Mode
The Main Street Originals require direct UV exposure to tint. They will remain clear indoors, in your vehicle, in the evening, behind helmet visors, or any other UV filtering glass.
Dark Mode
In perfect conditions the Main Street Originals can reach a maximum of 70% visible light filtration. Slightly lighter than regular sunglasses at around 80%. These results will vary from day to day based on any number of conditions.
For Them
There's only one thing that really matters, and it isn't glasses or bikes. This is a small family brand on a mission of relentless optimism, with a rebellious attitude.
Photochromic 101 Please Read and Understand
Photochromic lenses are practically magic, but they're not perfect. Even though we spare no expense on our photochromic pigment, the depth of tint can and will vary from day to day based on atmospheric conditions such as temperature, UV index, and any number of other factors. Photochromic Lenses Require Direct UV Exposure to Tint.
Also, photochromic lenses will not tint behind other UV filters. This means that they:
WILL NOT TINT INSIDE OF A VEHICLE
WILL NOT TINT BEHIND A HELMET VISOR
WILL NOT TINT INDOORS
Industry First Wire-Lock
Hold Please
Originally dreamed up from dangling an earbud while spending too much time on hold because of "higher call volume", whether it's music, a podcast, phone calls, or earplugs, the Industry First Wire-Lock comes in clutch to keep your setup right where you need it. Yea, yea, we know, wires are old school. But so are we. And it sucks looking around for that earbud that fell out.
The Moonshot behind this brand is about bringing people back together to change how we view and address our problems. Until then, in preparation for what is sure to be another dumpster-fire year, all 2024 Danger Shades (including the FUN RAZOR models), come with a complimentary pair of Red, White, and Blue earplugs, to help you tune out some of the smoldering garbage, because despite what some may want you to believe, we're all on the same ride. We got this.

Product Evolution
The Main Street Originals have come a long way since their first run, and we're always working to improve them based on customer feedback. When a quality control problem came up in 2019 (check out the reviews from that period), I torched the whole operation and started from scratch with proprietary molds, and the best materials we could find. And when they weren't getting dark enough, we sourced highest grade photochromic pigment available so that they match the top-of-the-line RX brand in side by side comparisons.
Just like a hard-tail, the Main Street Originals aren't for everyone. But if this if you're looking for one pair of Classic Style shades that you can depend on night and day, the Main Street Originals blazed the trail and are still leading the pack.
Danger Shades by EJ Moonshot Since 2017
These small batch shades are built with the highest quality materials to exceed Industry impact standards, for regular, working Americans, doing the things we shouldn't be, but are anyways. Motorcycles are nuts. If you're going to ride, obey the local laws and all that stuff.
But glasses and motorcycles were never the point. Check out the Moonshot idea that drives this brand.
Value Beyond Products
The Moonshot Brand Mission: The Civil Network
It takes a certain kind of human to ride a motorcycle. We're authentic. We're rebels. We ride to feel alive. We ride for the freedom.
I've been scratching my initials, the EJ logo, into my stuff since I was a kid. And I've been hung up on one idea since then too. That's the Moonshot. It's called the Civil Network, and it's all about how we utilize our technology to view and address our problems. Making it a reality has always been this brands mission. We've grown into a reputable business by providing quality and value to riders like you, making it right when we come up short, and developing cutting edge innovations before the corporate giants.
We're ripping in to 2024 hellbent on helping regular Americans come together, to change the way we view and address our problems. There's a short film about it called the Turtle Game. You've never seen anything like it. A recent customer, Chip B from Winchester, VA. was quoted as saying "Every American should watch the Turtle Game." And on Dec 7 2022, Indie Shorts Mag called it "A way to address social and political failure ....the humor alone will do the trick."
That's the deal. When you spend your hard on money on Danger Shades, this is where it's going. So Grab a pair, tell your crew, and come along for the ride, because we're going to have a blast along the way.
